Professional Membership ($259/ per year): Professional members are those working within the nutrition or nutrition-related profession and meet the educational standards appropriate for their role delineation. Summary of Qualifications: - Graduated from NANP-approved post-graduate or occupational certificate programs.
- Holds a bachelor’s or above in Nutrition or related fields from an accredited college or university
- Board-certified by the following recognized nutrition boards (AND, ACBN, ANMCB, CBCN, BCNS, CNCB, IAACN, AANC). See full list here.
- Confirmed members of the Federation of Nutritional Therapy Practitioners (levels 3, 4, or 5 only) or British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine
- Licensed health care professionals whose scope of practice legally includes nutritional counseling.
Student Membership ($99/ per year): This membership is extended to those who are currently enrolled in a nutrition program or studying in a related field. Students must provide current proof of enrollment to qualify for membership.
Associate Membership ($209/ per year): Associate membership is appropriate for graduates of dietary supplement education programs who have successfully passed the Certified Dietary Supplement Professional™ (CDSP™) exam. This member category is also appropriate for graduates of occupational certification programs in holistic nutrition that do not meet NANP’s educational standards for Professional membership and whose scope of practice does not legally include nutritional counseling (for example Health Coaches, Massage Therapists, Psychologists, Fitness Trainers, Personal Coaches).
Summary of Qualifications: - Graduates with holistic nutrition certification but not meeting Professional membership standards.
- Health professionals using nutrition/natural foods peripherally, without legal scope for nutritional counseling (e.g., Aromatherapists, Fitness Trainers, Health Coaches, etc.).
- Members of the Federation of Nutritional Therapy Practitioners (levels 3-5) or British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine.
- Licensed health professionals whose practice includes legal nutritional counseling, adhering to a natural/holistic model (e.g., Acupuncturists, Chiropractors, Nurses, Medical Doctors, Naturopathic Doctors).
- Graduates with holistic nutrition certification not meeting NANP’s Professional membership standards and whose practice does not legally include nutritional counseling (e.g., Health Coaches, Massage Therapists, Psychologists, Fitness Trainers, Personal Coaches).
